My child has been abducted

As a professional, I am dealing with a family conflict with a cross-border element

If there is cause for concern that a child in a family crisis will be or has been abducted and taken abroad by a parent, you as a professional may want to offer informed advice and respond quickly. In the following we provide an overview of specific tools and resources available for professionals in the legal and social services sectors.

I would like to talk to a child about the conflict

When parents separate, even young children will have many questions. If there are disputes about where they are going to live or how contact with both parents can be maintained across national borders, it is essential to reassure the children. We would like to help you as a parent or professional engage in conversation with a child. Our children’s page offers ideas and suggestions to suit different ages and can be viewed together or read out to them.

Our services

Whether disputes about cross-border custody and access rights or the abduction of a child from or to Germany, we’re here for you. We provide guidance both online and over the phone and will help you find individual solutions.

ZAnK focuses on the best interests of the child; we treat both parents without any preconceptions. Our advisers will refer you to local services where necessary, and as a member of International Social Service are part of a global network.

We are mandated by the Federal Government to offer our services to parents seeking advice, the children affected and those involved with them. Our services are also addressed to legal practitioners as well as professionals in social services, particularly in the field of child and youth services.
